CLA was established in 1980 by it's current shareholder, Mr. Renato Câncio de Sousa Teixeira, having already as it's objective the catering activity, mainly meal supply, to airline companies in the airport of Porto. Back then, it's facilities had a covered area of 1.800m2 (19.375,04ft2), where 50 employees worked.
With air traffic evolution and the interest of other airline companies to fly to Porto, in 1987 there was the necessity to enlarge the facilities, which resulted in a building that occupied an area of 3.200m2 (34.444,59ft2), located in a terrain with about 10.000m2 (107.639,1ft2).
However, the new technologies of production equipment, setups assembly, and the necessity to be closer to the airport resulted in the construction of a new building in 1990, located in allotment number 13 of the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. The new building, with a covered area of 11000m2 (118.403ft2), has a structured capacity in a functional way to produce an average of 20.000 meals/day.
Along with the new food-production technologies came the necessity to invest in human capital, which led some areas to resort to qualified professionals..
It is the company´s objective to create economical and social value with the continuity of a process of evolution and update of it's production and logistics system, leading to a rising number of airline companies to benefit from progress and innovation.
